Equality In The World

Everyone in the world has a spot
where when the toes touch the earth
their vibrations sing
like a choir raising glory of the day
with me it is Washington
I grew up around the world but I was born
and returned to the spot
throughout my life
that singed moth heading
into the light without thought or care
that one spot
where your inner child seeks the energy
that feeds the soul
which is the nursemaid of the body
where the smell of loam
holding the many who roam upon it
over the decades of change and revolution
ghost the night
like a choir
singing upon the bodies long gone
long spent in their desire
for acceptance and equality
as is their birthright, as is their dream
to live beyond
and carry the hopes
forward.
I love to recharge with the spirit
of change.

If You Smell Gas...it must be Gas

Sometimes a post is just a way to vetch...alright all the time.

We are setting up for a show this morning
and the van rolls over and plays dead
so off it goes with Triple A
and we switch to the PT Cruiser
which is older than dirt but not as old as the van
and it only as 30 some thousand miles
but hey...I regress
Tonight the "Check Engine Light" comes on
really, one car down and you slick
motherhungry  jerk
want to take the other one giving me heartburn??

But one thing I learned in the two years
in which I was single
and I do single very well thank you
I have seen this little stupid light before
so I go on google to refresh
my memory on how to do a diagnostic check of
that  "Check Engine Light"
google and youtube are the best things in life
well maybe not the best but I'll
do sex another time
and there it is 0455 - the code has taunted me before
which means my gas cap is leaking
so my nose goes into bloodhound stage and
I smell the gas.

I have to go to the mechanic on Monday
because of the van
so I'll have him clear it for me and maybe
I'll order a 'certified' PT gas cap
of course, it anyone wants to buy me a new car
for no reason other than you do
let me know!!

A Daddy's Girl!

If you took a black magic marker
dividing up your parts
the things that stuck and the things that didn't
the people who cross
your path
under the big shading hat
and crooked staff
a nod or sharing a slice of life
pondering your need for directions
drawn out in the dirt
would you forever wonder
of remember each traveler along the way
those who spit
ones that picked a wild flower
weaving it in your heart
you are your journey
you are a little bit of everyone
genetically formed
softly carried through the forest
of lions and bears
oh my
blessed is the soul
who learned to be brave
who taught the beauty of kindness
a daddy's girl
always
learns the path to life
from the love of his heart.

Oh God!

so there is this minister
somewhere in this country
who doesn't think there are enough rules
on those nasty women
that now
he wishes to prosecute and jail
them for saying during a fantastic climax
"oh god"

seriously this is true
there are really people out there
who are so jealous because they get nothing
that they would
take away the best way to tell
if a woman
thinks you are that damn good

men have for centuries
tried to unloosen women from rules
and when they succeed
along comes another one of those ministers
that believes sex
isn't the greatest thing in the world

Oh God
two words every woman should say
every single day!

Passion Awakened

we move in the same sea
upon the waves we travel you and me
reaching through the salt
coming up for a breath of sunlight

passion rings inside
filling the mind with yesterday
as tomorrow falls in the shadows of today
falling at our feet

riding high upon the possibility
where dreams are like starts
in the thunder beyond the horizon
passion reigns belief

rise without fear
fill your lungs with raindrops
unleash the ropes holding you to tight
grab the passion
enjoy this wonderful scary ride

Changes in the Wind

Dear John...
there are some things in life
that I find are so dramatic that you can't make them up
but I sometimes try...
I decided when I split from my prior
life
and that's what you call 40 years
of anything...
you always do it in a crowded restaurant
where a scene though less likely
but could occur
isn't near as much fun as watching someone's face
try to deal with reality
good, bad or possibly indifferent...
but like always I regress
I ended the forty years of life
fortunately not through the undertaker
six years ago
and while tripping through the days
I finally reached the point
where it was time to change my john hancock
problem is I have my artwork
and my writing under my prior name
which is not my maiden name
but time has come
the stars align with whatever it does
and my name will change
it's a good day
a very good day indeed.
