Suck It Up Buttercup!

Oh hells bells but I can only go so long before my snarkiness
just bleeds through the friggin front of my brain.
It took a long time and a lot of bumps in the middle of the night
before I became aware that I didn't have to do anything
I didn't want to do...

The most powerful two letter word
probably one of the first words I learned as a child
before it was beat out of me as the worst two letter word
that I could ever even remotely consider saying
is NO...no...no...no!

I owe no one nothing because I have always
stubbornly been free of other's guilt ridden stories
fantasies that are weaved so richly in the bullshit artist
whose tentacles are always on a search for the meek and mild
but I learned.

Guilt is not allowed...excuses hold no water
nothing in life can't be fixed, thrown away or ignored
there is no good or bad
there's just days when you don't want to deal with it
and days you say
Suck it Up Buttercup!

Always have a wry sense of humor...that's what makes
or breaks your day...so just suck it up!

Happiest of Thanksgivings!

Thanksgiving is just a day that is ingrained in us from childhood.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday

filled with memories and good food.

I am doing sweet potatoes for the family dinner

but a full bird will find its way into my oven on Saturday

because it really is about

turkey sandwiches!!

Happy Thanksgiving.

Little Things...

I bought a new laptop which I love and I have adjusted to the new explorer connections though it is not what I would call an improvement.  When I tried to post on my blog it said I didn't have the latest internet connection and must upgrade.

Being such a good little doobie...I checked it out and it told me I had the most up-to-date of everything in the world.  Puzzled it then told me how to find it on my computer and there it was in the apps.  So I log on with Internet Explorer 10 and my blog works perfectly.  So do I switch everything from the light Explorer or just use two different connections?  This is where procrastination comes in handy for I will deal with that later.

Above is a photograph of three glass cherry blossoms made from boro glass.  What is boro?  It is a glass that is very hard to melt as in it takes a high temperature to reach the melting point.  My torch is designed for glass that melts easier but as you can see it will melt boro with patience and persistence.  I have been working on the torch for twelve years and have shied away from using boro but I am bored and when I am bored I try things I normally don't.

I am in a bubble of boredom and one must wonder how anyone can be bored but I am.  My writing just isn't moving forward, I can't find a good book to read, my house is purged and clean, the garden has been winterized and I am bored.   I guess I will ride this one out and just enjoy the vacuum of my muse.

New Mexico Wildlife

this was an absolute first for me
I have never seen an elk and that's silly since
I have lived in Texas and Virginia
where they must surely be

we pulled over on our drive from Denver
to home when we spotted
a very large herd of elk
we always are lucky to see the Pronghorn Antelope
in our adventures but the closest
we have gotten to the elk is the sign along
the highway that says "Elk Crossing"

these are very healthy and fat elk
who is taking advantage of a warm November
in Northern New Mexico
They migrate along the San Juan mountain ranges
herding mostly on private ranches

there were several very large buck
in the herd

Life is beautiful
in Northern New Mexico!
